Below is the storyboard for the animation Signs someone may be struggling with their mental health? As shown in the images below I have detailed a simple narrative that follows the script for this animation detailing the signs that someone may be struggling with their own mental health. The animation will begin with the title scene before moving on to explain how some people may find it hard to cope with everyday life and may struggle with their own mental health. The animation will then go on to explain how it is important to look out for the signs that someone may be struggling so that you can try and help them. The animation will then go on to explain what the signs of someone who may be struggling are, which include:
- Feeling excessively low or sad for longer than two weeks
- Changes in sleep habits/feeling more tired
- Changes in eating habits
- Extreme mood changes
- Intense worries
- Inability to complete normal daily tasks
- Avoiding friends and social engagements
The animation will then go on to explain what you should do if you think someone may be struggling with their mental health, which includes talking to them, listening to them and encouraging them to seek professional health. The hope with this animation is that more people will know the signs to look out for and know how to help someone that is struggling. The animation will also reemphasis that everyone has days where they struggle, and they do need to be ashamed if they need some help and support, helping to reduce the stigma.
For this animation I am planning on covering
- The signs someone is struggling with their mental health
- How to help someone who may be struggling with their mental health
Having completed all the storyboard now for my animation, my next step will be to begin the actual development of my animations, starting off with the creation of the characters so that when my ethics applications gets approved, I can send a small animation of my character to my target audience to give feedback on.
